CMA Certificate Exam Structure
The CMA Certification examination is divided into two parts. This two-part examination can be taken in any order. Part 1 of the CMA exam assesses a candidate’s understanding of topics of financial reporting, planning, performance, and control. CMA Part 2 evaluates a candidate’s ability of financial decision making.
Each exam part is of four hours duration. Each exam part comprises of 100 multiple-choice questions and two 30-minute essay questions. Candidates must register to appear in one of the exam parts within 12 months of entering the program and must complete both the exam parts within 3 years of entering the program.

CMA Exam Process
The CMA Exam Process comprises of the following steps:
Step 1:Enrol in IMA’s CMA Certification program. This is a mandatory step which all candidates must complete before they can register for an exam part.
Step 2:Register for the exam and pay the required exam fee. The CMA entrance fee is non- refundable. Candidates will receive the confirmation of their registration. The confirmation of the registration provides authorization numbers, testing windows and the instructions for the candidates.
Step 3: Schedule exam appointment. Exam appointments must be scheduled with Prometric, the testing partner of IMA.
Step 4: Appear for the scheduled exam with the required identification documents.
